Earlier this month, a chilling tweet allegedly from ISIS terrorists warned the U.S. that fighters are “already in your streets.”

After alleged Islamic terrorists threatened Chicago and Washington D.C., on Twitter, the government is begging local police to remain vigilant.

The FBI and the Department of Homeland Security issued a bulletin Friday urging all local officials to be on the lookout for possible ISIS threats and homegrown terror.

The bulletin said there are currently no “specific, credible threats against the Homeland,” but still warned law enforcement officials to be on high alert, especially after the terrorist group beheaded kidnapped American journalist James Foley earlier this week, ABC News reported.

The notice pointed to one specific tweet which claimed fighters were already in major U.S. cities, such as Chicago and Washington D.C., and mysteriously declared: “You are our goals anywhere.”

The tweet posted on Aug. 9, used the hashtag “#AmessagefromISIStoUS and the text “We are in your state. We are in your cities. We are in your streets.”

The message also included photos of an ISIS flag in front of the White House and Chicago’s Old Republic Building, seeming to imply ISIS fighters are already in the country. Time stamps on the photos were from June 20.

The U.S. government urged local police to be on the lookout for terrorist threats from the Islamic State.

It’s unclear who posted the ominous threat.

In Friday’s bulletin, the federal agencies explained that it’s difficult to predict triggers for radical violence.

The two groups released the alert bulletin after noticing ISIS — and online users claiming to be associated with ISIS — using social media to encourage English-speaking Muslims to join fighters in Syria.

The groups emphasized that all current threats to the U.S. are not credible but said they could not rule out any future attacks by ISIS sympathizers.

Among other big U.S. cities, Chicago is seen as a specific threat because of President Barack Obama’s ties to the area.

The group beheaded kidnapped American journalist James Foley earlier this week.

“Many terror organizations refer to Chicago as Obama Town,” Ross Rice, a former FBI agent, told CBS Chicago.

The Islamic State has expressed anger toward the U.S. leader, especially after he approved an airstrike campaign against the terrorist group.

In retaliation for those airstrikes, ISIS fighters released a video of a masked terrorist brutally beheading Foley earlier this week.

In the gruesome execution video, the savage terrorist said ISIS will kill another hostage, TIME magazine journalist Steven Sotloff, if Obama and his administration do not meet ISIS’ demands.

“The life of this American citizen, Obama, depends on your next decision,” the masked executioner said in the footage.
